On December 5, 2024 we hosted our first Hope for the Holidays - An Evening for Parents of Child Loss. It was a beautiful night of remembrance, community and sharing in grief. Those who attended left with tools on how to survive the holidays as well as a new found HOPE for the future. Please remember to cover any families in prayer that you know are walking this path. Grief is not a destination, it's a journey. And it's a journey traveled better with people who care! Say their name, remember them, let the families know they are not forgotten. Just because our children are not with us, does not mean they didn't live. Thank you for sharing in our journey and caring for those who have experienced the loss of a child. Although we wish we would have never met in this way, we are so thankful for each of you!
World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), March 21st, is a global awareness day which has been observed since 2012. The date for WDSD being the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.
Although our children may no longer be with us, we wanted to find a way to remember our children on this day.
If you have lost a child with Down syndrome, we want to honor them! Submissions are open each year from January 15th - February 28th. They are not forgotten at Zion's Army!
We couldn't think of a better way to Celebrate Zion's birthday than by showing kindness!
Zion's Army went above and beyond for Zion's first birthday! We had a total of 866 kindness pledges in Zion's honor! Just WOW!
Kindness doesn't have to stop in June! Fill out the form and we will mail you random acts of kindness cards! Do a Random Act of Kindness and leave a card (that we mail you). It's that simple!
It costs absolutely nothing to be kind! And just a warning, kindness is CONTAGIOUS!
Pass it on...
If you know Josh, you know he loves CROSSFIT! The Crossfit Community has rallied behind us and now there is a WOD (Workout of the Day) that is in Zion memory! 2024 will be the 4th Annual Zion's Memorial WOD! We chose the month and date for various reasons:
Zion passed away October 8th
October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month
October 15th is National Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day
We couldn't think of a better day to come together for a good cause and remember our babies. If you have lost a child or had a miscarriage, we want to remember your child as well! You are not alone. There is strength in unity. There will be a bracelet for parents who have experienced loss to represent their babies at this WOD!
